What goes into making a custom silkscreen stencil?
When making a silkscreen stencil, a clear transparency is created with an all black design, which is placed over the stencil film and exposed with a special light, then washed out. This means that any design you would like made into a stencil would need to be changed to a black and white design.
I can create a custom stencil with a pre-made design (that we have a commercial license to use), or a newly created design. You just tell me what you want and I will put together a few drafts for you to choose from, and I will tweak the designs until you are happy with it.
So, how do I order a
custom-made stencil?
Start by deciding on the design you'd like, then click on one of the buttons below with the size you want. I have 4 different sizes to choose from. If you need a different size, please click here to send me an email. Please be aware that the design needs to have a border of about 1" all around it, to allow you to apply the paste/ink.
Once I receive your order, I will contact you to get more details. I will then take your request and create several design drafts. This may take as little as 1 day or as long as 7 days, depending on the design requested.
If you have a design file you want me to use, please upload it when you get to the Check Out Page. You will find the "Upload File" button on the bottom. An SVG file works best, but a PNG, a high resolution JPG, or PDF should also work. Design must be in dark black if it is not an SVG. If you have any questions, just contact me.
After you approve the design(s), your stencil(s) will be created and shipped out within 2-4 business days, via USPS First Class Mail.
Please note, there is a $5 designing fee already added to each Custom Stencil.
